Nothing Like Country...
There's just something about summer nights that draw me towards country music... It's like my first love; it's what I grew up on. The twangy southern drawls, the sound of Slide guitars, the lyrics of heartbreak, family, and beer, especially the warm feeling it gives me. It's definately a big part of who I am. And it's nights like these where I feel so lost in the world that I realize that turning on an old country radio station takes me back to the days when things were still okay. When my family wasn't torn, when friends came easy, when my brothers and I were still close, when the world still seemed fresh to me. I can remember the countless afternoons in the sun listening to country while we worked on our then new house. Sometimes it just makes me cry; realizing how much has changed and how much I miss.. It makes me miss my dad. It makes me feel a million things that just listening to top forty music doesn't. So tonight I'll leave y'all with a short playlist of some good country tunes of my youth.(: hope you can enjoy... Because they're what's getting me thru tonight.
